Straight from the Future – BMW CE 02
The first time I saw the BMW CE 02, I knew it couldn’t be defined as a motorcycle. Not a scooter either.
It felt like something else entirely, an object suspended between what we know and what is about to come.
In traffic, it doesn’t ask for attention. It takes it. Fast, light, silent. Almost unreal. Riding it, you sense a shift: a different idea of mobility, a different rhythm, a different future starting to take shape.
At Rizoma, I’ve always been drawn to challenges that question established forms.
Electric mobility is not just an alternative for me, it’s a new design territory, one that deserves its own language. The CE 02 spoke that language naturally: clean lines, essential volumes, nothing superfluous.
It doesn’t simply move you from one point to another.
It communicates.
We began with color. Solar Titanium isn’t a finish but a vision.
It captures light, holds it, and releases it with depth, as if energy itself were embedded in the surface. From there, we shaped the details. The covers, the license plate holder, the turn signals.
Small elements, carefully designed, that carry our signature and redefine the character of the CE 02.
At some point, it stops being just a vehicle. It becomes an object you observe, almost collect. Something you question: is it transportation, or is it design? This project with BMW goes beyond style.
It’s an exploration. A glimpse into what mobility could become when function, emotion and aesthetics move in the same direction.
Some mystery remains, intentionally. And that’s where its strength lives. In not explaining everything, but in letting those who ride it feel they are holding a fragment of the future, right now.
